What is the mission of the Miss Bahamas Teen Organization?
Our mission is to bring out the personal best in Bahamian young ladies as they seek to achieve greatness by cultivating their self-image, passions, and education in an environment that encourages the pursuit of purpose, and discipline and supports the strengthening of their character.
When was the organization established?
Miss Bahamas Teen Organization was established on December 12th, 2012
What are the requirements to become a contestant?
You must be a born Bahamian female between the ages of 14-18 standing at 5’5(with heels) with a grade point average(GPA) of no less than 2.5
What international competitions have the winners participated in?
The international competitions the winners attended are Teen Universe and Teen Mundial
Is there an application fee?
The application fee is a standard fee of $100 which is non-refundable
How are the judges selected?
The judges are selected based on experience and exposure in the field of pageantry, fitness, modeling, and talent.
Are all the applicants accepted?
Every girl can be accepted; however, she must meet the basic requirements which are height, age, and nationality. All other requirements girls will have to pass the probationary period to make it to the preliminary competitions otherwise they will not be allowed to continue.
Can family island teens participate?
Teenage girls from any of the family islands in the Bahamas are welcome to participate.
Who is the founder?
Anishka Cherese Lockhart is the founder.
How many teen queens have been crowned?
Miss Bahamas Teen Organization has successfully crowned 9 teens
Who are the past teen queens?
The names of the nine queens are from newest to oldest; Cassidy Stuart, Tamoya Walton, Kayla Culmer, Amani Stuart, Shanny Phanord, Kiara Diggiss, Davette Strachan, Shanice Toussaint, and Shavon Nottage
Is there an entry fee?
The entry fee varies from year to year
When is the national pageant held?
The national pageant is held in early summer June/July 99.5% of the time
What are the areas of competition?
Competition areas: Spokesmodel, Costume, Talent, Fitness, Evening Gown, and Judges/swimsuit Interview
Who should enter this competition?
Any teen desiring to enhance herself through pageantry in the areas of Public Speaking, Judges’ Interview Technique, Etiquette and Grooming, Wellness/Fitness, Stage Presence, and Walking Techniques and searching for an avenue to have her platform unveiled and progressed.
Will the winner receive prizes?
Yes, prizes are given to the winner of the competition.
